On Thursday, July 14, 2023 the Ashram celebrated the lives of some of the Beloveds who have  passed in recent years.

Starting at 10:30 a.m. the lives of Lakshmi Ma, Shruti Ram, and Ganga and Yamuna were remembered and celebrated. Following the remembrance celebration, the community proceeded to the Memorial Orchard and planted trees for each of them.

In the afternoon, beginning at 1:45 p.m, the Celebration of Remembrance for Baba Ram Dass and KK Sah began
During the celebration two short films were shown,
“Eyes of Love,” a Ram Dass film, and “KK’s Bhav.”
After we heard from many of their beloveds, a kirtan procession proceeded to the Memorial Orchard where a puja to install Ram Dass’s ashes was held and trees were planted for each.

Remembering Krishna Kumar Sah

January 14, 2020 marks the one year passing of one of Maharaj-ji's most beloved devotees - K.K. Sah.

K.K. lived Maharaj-ji's message of Love Everyone. He was a brilliant, scholarly and devoted source of wisdom to Neem Karoli Baba’s western satsang. He last visited NKB Taos Ashram during the early construction phase of the Hanuman Mandir.

K.K.’s last visit to the Taos Ashram was an amazing darshan for all of Baba’s local Taos devotees who were privileged to be present for those few beautiful days of sitting with him near the kitchen while listening to stories of his time with Maharaj-ji. Baba’s presence shone through KK’s gentle way of sharing and being, blessing us all with a deep satsang of devotion to Maharaj-ji. K.K, we will miss you, and in our hearts, will always remember you.

K.K. told this story to illustrate the way Maharajji would gently teach his devotees “without hurting their feelings.”

There was a devotee of Maharaj-ji that lived on the way to Lucknow that he would visit. One day while visiting her, she vehemently expressed her discontent with the presence of his new western devotees. Maharaj-ji said nothing to this woman, but invited her to a satsang where the westerners would be singing kirtan. Maharaj-ji sat in tears while the devotees sang. Afterwards, when his western devotees had left, Maharaj-ji asked the woman how she had liked the singing. She threw herself at Maharaj-ji's feet and in K.K.’s recollection said, “I was wrong, really they have such pure hearts.”

K.K. Sah was a Bhakti yogi, lifelong devotee of Neem Karoli Baba and Ramayana scholar who was instrumental in the formation of Neem Karoli Baba's western satsang, serving as translator of Maharaji-ji's words and teachings for Ram Dass, Larry Brilliant, Krishna Das and others. In this beautiful collection of writings, K.K. shares tales of growing up in the foothills of the Himalayas and his experiences with many different saints and sages.
