He was a shining light for thousands of people, and left an indelible imprint on the fabric of spirituality in the West. He helped to share the simple, profound insights of spirituality with humor and a lightness of touch. “Becoming Nobody” Is a quintessential portal to Ram Dass’ life and teachings. This benefit screening is a fundraiser for the completion and continuation of Ram Dass’ dream, the Sri Neem Karoli Baba Ashram Hanuman Temple in Taos, New Mexico. In “Becoming Nobody”, historic clips balance and engaging conversation with director Jamie Catto. We come to understand how our old roles and disguises become increasingly burdensome. The film captures a loving man full of joy, wit, honesty and wisdom, at ease in conversation while sharing his considerable pains and pleasures. All longtime associates and friends of Ram Dass for decades, the evening special guests include Larry Brilliant, author of "Sometimes Brilliant: The Impossible Adventure of a Spiritual Seeker and Visionary Physician Who Helped Conquer the Worst Disease in History"; Mirabai Starr, author of "Wild Mercy: Living the Fierce and Tender Wisdom of the Women Mystics"; Girija Brilliant, MPH, Ph.D. is co-founder of the Seva Foundation and a lifelong friend of Ram Dass; and Hanuman Das, Vice President of the Neem Karoli Baba Ashram and Hanuman Temple in Taos New Mexico.
